Singyes Solar is a renewable energy company and a downstream market player focusing on solar applications. It had not sufficiently differentiated itself from upstream players, which hindered its share price performance. Direct engagement platforms including one-on-one meetings and conference calls, instead of just distribution of news releases, were used to convey Singyes’ corporate story and address misconceptions. Key influencers in the investment community, buy/sell-side analysts and business media, were convinced of the positive growth momentum of the downstream sector, which maintained high corporate visibility for Singyes and promoted its investment value.

The initial public offering of ABM, a relative dark horse in the energy and coal sector in Indonesia, was oversubscribed 4.12 times, even though it coincided with a period of significant global market uncertainty in 2011. Ahead of the IPO, the client’s visibility and credibility was enhanced by a three-part strategy that successfully repositioned it as an ‘integrated energy’ company, instead of a ‘strategic investment’ company, by validating ABM’s status as a thought leader in the resources industry. Enlisting the support of all ABM subsidiaries in corporate messaging work ensured greater frequency and amplification, since the parent company was bound by SEC rules on direct interaction with the public.
