Playing a key role in ANTA’s internationalization strategy, we provided communications and marketing support for Mascot Bidco, an international investor consortium led by ANTA Sports, as the consortium made a Public Tender Offer (PTO) for the Finnish sporting goods company Amer Sports. We successfully persuaded over 94% of Amer’s shareholders to vote to pass the merger resolution. ANTA’s stock price was relatively stable one day after the PTO. ANTA’s share price reached a record high HKD 51.15 three days after the PTO. The acquisition turned market perception of ANTA from a Chinese company into an international company. Our strategy involved: distributing trilingual press releases, adding a specific topic in the IR website, holding conference calls with media and arranging analyst presentations. Internal communication was managed via drafting and distributing of employee letters. Effective international media relations outreach also positively affected the public’s view of the acquisition.
